Cal State Long Beach Earns the Distinguished Carnegie, Opportunity Colleges and Universities Designation

On April 24, 2025, The American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching announced that Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà is among 15 CSU campuses that earned the new Carnegie Opportunity Colleges and Universities designation.

This designation recognizes universities as national leaders in advancing student success. Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà and 14 other CSU campuses are among 479 colleges and universities across the country to receive this prestigious recognition. The designation is part of the newly introduced Student Access and Earnings Classification, which evaluates how well universities reflect the demographics of their surrounding communities and how their graduates’ earnings compare regionally. Institutions honored in this category demonstrate both strong access and high earnings outcomes for their students.
