Enye

is the newly rebranded bilingual magazine at 六九色堂. Formerly known as D脥G En Espa帽ol, we began in 2018 as a staff blog produced by students in Professor Teresa Puente鈥檚 bilingual journalism class. In 2019, we became the first Spanish-language journalism magazine in Long Beach. In 2023, we went fully bilingual to be accessible for non-Spanish speakers. As the publication has evolved, student staff felt it was time the name evolved as well, so, was born.
is the phonetic spelling of 鈥溍,鈥 a letter present in many words in Spanish and our last names, but not in the English alphabet or on most keyboards. How many times have we sacrificed the 鈥溍扁 in our language for an 鈥渘鈥 because it was 鈥渆asier鈥? ENYE represents how proud we are to highlight our culture and our unwillingness to sacrifice it.
